Restylane

Restylane® is an injectable dermal filler containing hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance that exists in the human body. This clear gel, known as Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid (“NASHA™”), is biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid. Restylane® is used to restore volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds.

The advantage of Restylane® is that it maintains its shape by using the body's own natural moisture. As the hyaluronic acid slowly degrades, the molecules bind to water. Over time, the same volume can be maintained with a lesser amount of hyaluronic acid. The fact that the hyaluronic acid binds to water, helps the results last longer.

Restylane® is free from animal proteins, minimizing the risk of allergic reactions to animal proteins. Temporary side effects include minor redness or swelling, which should disappear in a day or so.
